The BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, the longest-running performance venue in Lower Manhattan, has announced its 2026–2027 season. The upcoming schedule features a diverse program of high-quality, accessible performances spanning dance, music, and family entertainment.
The dance component of the season includes three dedicated residencies. In late September 2026, Barkha Dance Co. will present icchā, an interdisciplinary work by Barkha Patel that utilizes contemporary choreography and classical Indian dance to explore themes of memory, desire, and generational storytelling. This will be followed in February 2027 by Signature Steps, which will present Steps Ahead by Danielle Diniz, a program celebrating musical theater traditions and contemporary movement with a focus on female-identifying performers. The dance series continues in March 2027 with Dr Chloé Roberts presenting Sorcièr(e), an ensemble work that combines choreography with archival research to examine the historical construction of the witch and the regulation of women’s bodies.
Music highlights feature a note-for-note performance of the iconic Led Zeppelin II album by Classic Albums Live on 17 October 2026. Family-oriented programming begins shortly after on 18 October 2026 with Cirque-Tacular’s Spooktacular, a high-energy circus production featuring acrobatics and comedy set within a haunted-themed world. Other family productions include Clifford the Big Red Dog: The Musical in December 2026, the return of The Paper Bag Players in March 2027, and a musical adaptation of the Mo Willems book Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! in April 2027.
Educational and seasonal offerings include a weeklong acting camp and production of Robin Hood by the Missoula Children’s Theatre, running from 16 to 20 February 2027. Registration for this program is set to begin on 12 August 2026. The season will conclude on 8 May 2027 with Cirque-Tacular’s Spring Is In the Air, a seasonal circus celebration.
