Online registration has officially opened for the fourth annual Night Lights in New Lebanon community light festival, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 5. The annual event brings together lighting designers, enthusiasts, and volunteers to showcase experiential lighting installations during Labor Day weekend.
The festival will run from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a dedicated hour beginning at 8 p.m. specifically for families with small children. While the event is free to the public, organizers encourage pre-registration via the official website to reserve time slots, as the final entry to the festival will be at 10:30 p.m.
Since the festival began in 2023, it has showcased more than 50 lighting designers from across the country. The initiative was created to support and inspire the next generation of talent in the lighting community, drawing participation from both the New York City and Boston lighting sectors to promote collaboration and creativity.
Lighting designers transform a rural property through various experiential lighting vignettes. These teams design and source materials throughout the year, with the installations being assembled and dismantled within a 72-hour window.
The event is supported by a variety of industry and local sponsors. Visionary sponsors include IESNYC and DLFNYC, while ETC and Hydrel serve as event sponsors. Equity in Lighting acts as the fiscal sponsor. More than 30 other manufacturers, sales, and design firms provide support, alongside local contributors including Roaring 20s Brewery, Maverick’s, JimmyD’s Pizza, and the New Lebanon Farmer’s Market.
