On February 14, Times Square will once again become the ultimate destination for romance as couples from all over gather for Love in Times Square. The iconic location will host a day of heartfelt celebrations, including weddings, surprise proposals, and a mass vow renewal ceremony, all set against the backdrop of Times Square Arts’ newly unveiled Love & Design Competition winner, Love Ever After.
Throughout the day, two couples will say “I do” in the heart of Times Square. The first ceremony will unite a couple who, after three and a half years together, are ready to celebrate their love in an unconventional way, joined by their two adult children. The second couple, who first met in Times Square in 2008, will make their union official in the very place where their love story began.
Adding to the magic, two surprise proposals will take place in grand fashion, with unsuspecting partners seeing their marriage proposals appear on the massive Everest billboard above the square. Spectators will witness the unforgettable moments as these lucky individuals declare their love in front of the world.
As night falls, the annual vow renewal ceremony will welcome couples of all backgrounds to reaffirm their commitment on the famous Red Steps. The event is open to all and will feature a live performance from a member of the Broadway cast of A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of love and celebration.
The backdrop for these romantic milestones will be Love Ever After, the winning installation of the 17th Annual Love & Design Competition. The striking 50-foot geometric heart sculpture, constructed from repurposed oyster cages, symbolizes renewal, sustainability, and the deep connections that bind people and communities. Presented in collaboration with The World Around and the Billion Oyster Project, the installation highlights the intersection of art, love, and environmental responsibility.
For those looking to make the most of their Valentine’s Day in Times Square, local businesses will be offering special experiences, from romantic dining options to exclusive gifts. Visitors are encouraged to explore the area’s restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues, rediscovering the hidden gems that make Times Square a vibrant hub of culture and celebration.
