The White House on Tuesday submitted a series of nominations to the Senate for positions across the federal government, including judicial appointments, senior administration roles and leadership posts at independent agencies.
Among the nominees is Maria D’Avanzo of New York for inspector general of the General Services Administration and David Slade of Florida for first vice president of the Export Import Bank of the United States for a term ending Jan. 20, 2029.
At the Department of Health and Human Services, Timothy Westlake of Wisconsin was nominated to serve as assistant secretary for mental health and substance use, while Gerard Klomp of Utah was nominated for deputy secretary.
The administration also announced several judicial nominations. Gregory Carl Cook of Alabama was nominated to serve as a U.S. district judge for the Northern District of Alabama, while Anna St. John of Louisiana was nominated as a U.S. circuit judge for the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Three nominees were selected for 15 year terms as judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims: Robert R. Fleck of Pennsylvania, David M. Jones of Virginia and Daniel F. Rendleman of Illinois.
John Peter Cronan of New York and Jason Manion of Ohio were nominated to serve as members of the U.S. Sentencing Commission.
The White House also notified the Senate that it was withdrawing two previously submitted nominations. Juan Rodriguez’s nomination to serve as U.S. ambassador to Guatemala, which had been submitted in March 2026, was withdrawn, along with Konstantinos Ligris’ nomination to serve as an assistant attorney general.
