The National Urban League Washington Bureau has announced that applications are now being accepted for its 2026-2027 Congressional Advocacy Program cohort. This competitive program is designed to provide movement leaders with opportunities to expand their understanding of congressional and grassroots engagement while networking with policymakers, political influencers, and thought leaders.
The initiative aims to help participants develop core leadership competencies to serve as catalysts for change within their respective professions and communities. The program curriculum includes virtual workshops featuring guest speakers and various curated activities intended to offer students an insider’s perspective on current advocacy topics.
As a final component of the program, the cohort will design, present, and execute a capstone project. This project requires participants to apply the concepts learned throughout the program to address a real-world advocacy issue.
The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m. local time on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026. Prospective applicants should note that a recommendation is required to complete the application process.
