Governor Kathy Hochul announced the upcoming Stronger Together: Hudson Valley Public Safety & Wellness Expo, scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at SUNY New Paltz. The event is free and open to the public, bringing together more than 35 exhibitors focused on emergency response, mental wellness, and community health.
Organized by the New York State Bridge Authority in collaboration with SUNY New Paltz’s Institute for Disaster Mental Health, the expo aims to connect residents with critical services while showcasing the work of first responders, public agencies, and mental health organizations.
Activities will include public safety demonstrations, drone technology showcases, “Stop the Bleed” first aid training, therapy animals, and presentations featuring rehabilitated wildlife. Emergency vehicles and gear will be on display, and several agencies will be recruiting on site.
The expo reflects New York’s broader investments in public safety and mental health as outlined in the recently adopted state budget.
State officials from the Departments of Transportation, Corrections, Public Service, Motor Vehicles, and Mental Health will participate in the event, along with the New York State Police and the Thruway Authority.
The event will take place outdoors at West Parking Lot 37 at SUNY New Paltz. In case of rain, it will move to the Athletic and Wellness Center. Parking is free and food will be available for purchase.
The expo aims to create opportunities for public engagement, build awareness around wellness and safety, and encourage collaborative efforts to improve community resilience throughout the Hudson Valley and across the state.
