NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull has opened two new hospitality rooms aimed at improving the experience for patients, families, and visitors by providing essential amenities in a welcoming space that respects cultural and religious preferences.
The self-service rooms, located on the main floor adjacent to the Geriatric Clinic, offer coffee, tea, water, a microwave, a sink, and updated countertops. Designed with the hospital’s diverse patient population in mind, the rooms provide a space for visitors to refresh and recharge while supporting a more patient-centered care experience.
Hospital officials emphasized that the project was developed with input from patients, visitors, and staff to ensure the design and furnishings reflect cultural sensitivity. The initiative aligns with the hospital’s broader commitment to enhancing the care environment and ensuring a more comfortable experience for all who enter its doors.
Community members also recognized the addition of the hospitality rooms as a meaningful step in serving the needs of the Orthodox Jewish community, with a dedicated Bikur Cholim Hospitality Room providing added support for patients and their families. Leaders from NYC Health + Hospitals, local community organizations, and faith-based groups attended the unveiling, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to inclusive and compassionate care.
The new hospitality rooms mark another step in NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull’s ongoing efforts to enhance patient and community experience, ensuring visitors have access to essential services in a respectful and supportive environment.
