New York State is channeling $32.6 million into seven infrastructure projects aimed at creating ready-to-develop sites for advanced manufacturing and high-tech industries, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced today.

The funding, part of the Focused Attraction of Shovel-Ready Tracts (FAST NY) program managed by Empire State Development, supports projects in the Capital Region, Western New York, Mid-Hudson, Mohawk Valley, and the Finger Lakes. The initiative, which has already funneled nearly $233 million into 32 sites statewide, is designed to boost the state’s appeal to major employers by ensuring that sites are fully equipped for rapid development.

In the Capital Region, the Albany Port District Commission will invest roughly $18.8 million at an 85-acre expansion site along Beacon Island to install essential utilities such as high-voltage power, wastewater treatment, and fire protection systems. In Western New York, the Buffalo and Erie County Land Development Corporation received $11.5 million to transform a long-unused airport into the Erie County Agribusiness Park, with upgrades that include road and sewer improvements and extensions for power and gas transmission.

Additional allocations include $1 million to extend water infrastructure at the Synergy Technology Park in Clifton Park, further bolstering industrial capacity in the region. Meanwhile, Orange County in the Mid-Hudson area has been awarded $500,000 for early-stage engineering and environmental studies at the Roseton Development site—a project that leverages direct access to rail, power, and the Hudson River to target offshore wind supply chain companies.

In the Mohawk Valley, the Fulton County Center for Regional Growth is set to receive $434,700 for planning and engineering studies at Johnstown Commerce Park, a move that could lead to several industrial projects and the creation of approximately 200 jobs. The Hamburg Development Corporation in Western New York secured $250,000 for pre-development work at the Crossroads site near a former automotive facility, while Wayne County in the Finger Lakes was allocated $100,000 to assess water and sewer infrastructure needs at Lyons Industrial Park and adjacent areas.

State officials emphasized that investments in shovel-ready infrastructure have been key to attracting leading companies and spurring job growth. The FAST NY program, launched in 2022, targets sectors ranging from semiconductors and life sciences to clean energy and agribusiness, reinforcing New York’s strategy to diversify its economy.

Gov. Hochul’s fiscal year 2026 executive budget also proposes an additional $100 million in funding for the program, underscoring the administration’s commitment to building competitive, business-friendly communities across the state.
