Hashi Market officially opened its flagship store at 330 5th Avenue in New York City this month with a vibrant ceremony celebrating Japanese culture, cuisine, and tradition. The event showcased the company’s commitment to bringing authentic Japanese experiences to a global audience in one of the world’s most renowned locations.

The festivities commenced with a red daruma eye-painting ritual, a traditional Japanese symbol of aspirations and good fortune, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Distinguished guests included Masayuki Yamada, Chairman & CEO of Uoriki Company, and Nagao Hiroki, CEO of New Pan Hokkaido Co., Ltd., who joined Hashi Market executives in marking the occasion.

Justin Lin, Marketing Director of Hashi Market, emphasized the significance of the new location, noting its role in solidifying the company’s North American expansion. “With established stores across several U.S. states, the opening of this flagship store represents our dedication to delivering high-quality Japanese products and experiences,” he said. “Our goal is to bridge the culture of Japan and the United States while offering consumers the most authentic Japanese experience.”

The event’s highlight was a live tuna-cutting demonstration, where skilled chefs displayed their mastery of Japanese culinary traditions. Guests, including influencers, were captivated by the performance, many experiencing such artistry for the first time. Attendees sampled the freshly prepared tuna, praising its exceptional flavor and quality.

The flagship store offers a range of freshly prepared bentos and sushi, made daily by expert chefs using premium ingredients flown in directly from Japan. Guests explored the store’s diverse offerings, which include high-quality, affordable Japanese meals and two sister brands.

Located on 5th Avenue, Hashi Market aims to cater to both local residents and international visitors seeking an authentic Japanese cultural and culinary experience.

The grand opening represents a significant milestone for Takayama International Inc., the parent company of Hashi Market, as it embarks on plans to expand its presence across North America. This flagship location stands as a testament to the company’s mission of sharing the richness of Japanese cuisine and culture with an ever-growing audience.
